【 高校1年生 アメリカフィールドワーク 9日目 】 / America Field Work [9th Day]
平成31年3月12日(火)、アメリカフィールドワーク9日目の様子です。
本日は午前中にホストシスターと授業を受け、昼休みにはコーニングハイスクールの生徒たちにダンスを披露し、午後はオリーブオイル工場見学やフェアウェルパーティーに参加しました。
学校での研修最終日となりましたが、生徒たちは最後まで授業に一生懸命取り組みました。昼休みには、多くの生徒の前でダンスを披露し、拍手喝采を浴びました。アメリカでもよく知られている曲に合わせて元気いっぱい踊ることができ、とても盛り上がりました。
午後にはコーニングの名産であるオリーブを使ったオリーブオイルの工場見学に行きました。地中海性気候が広く分布するこの地域では、オリーブの他にもプルーンやアーモンドの栽培が盛んであり、特にオリーブは世界各地に輸出をしているとのことでした。生徒たちは熱心にメモや写真で記録を残していました。その後、フェアウェルパーティーにて、修了証の授与やダンスの披露を行いました。様々なシーンでお世話になった方々に、感謝の気持ちを伝える和やかで温かい雰囲気の場となりました。
本日でアメリカ研修の行程は終了し、帰国いたします。短期間でしたが、多くの成長を見せてくれた生徒たちが、更なる飛躍に向けて今後も頑張ってくれることを期待しています。
This morning, the students had classes with their host sisters. During the recess, they performed a dance, and in the afternoon they visited an olive oil factory and then had a farewell party.
It was the last day of training here at Corning High School. The students danced in front of a large audience on a song popular in the US and received lots of applauses. In the afternoon, the students visited the olive oil factory. The Mediterranean climate of California is suitable for growing olives, prunes and almonds. Olive is the most famous local product, and it’s exported in many countries around the world. The students were very interested to learn about it and took notes and pictures during the factory tour.
At the farewell party, the students were awarded the certificates of completion of training. They performed a dance and ended the day expressing their gratitude to their hosts in a warm atmosphere.
The students have now ended the fieldwork in the US. The trip was short but full of accomplishments. We hope the students will keep improving and work towards their growth in the future.
