1. Students practicing for the A2 Key speaking Test
The first video shows some of our third-year JHS students practicing for the A2 Key for Schools speaking test, which they took in July. All students who took the test received at least A2 (英検準2級) score in speaking, with one student even reaching B1 (英検2級) level overall! We’re really proud of our students – well done! It’s easy to see that their speaking and listening skills really have improved.
最初の動画は、中学3年生が７月に受検したA2 Key for Schoolsのスピーキングテストの練習をしている様子です。その結果は受検した生徒が皆CEFRのA2レベル以上のスピーキング力を取得しており、また総合力評価がB1の生徒もいました。本当によく頑張ってくれ、教える側としても誇りに感じています。スピーキング力とリスニング力が非常に向上していることは一目瞭然です。
2. Ｑuizlet – a great self-study tool
The second video shows how students can use Quizlet, a flash card application, to study vocabulary on their iPads. They can use the application to review vocabulary they have already learned or even study words they need for the next lesson. Students can also listen to the vocabulary to improve their pronunciation and use various games and tests to see how well they remember the words. And on top of that, we teachers can see how much time they spend studying, how well they are doing, and which vocabulary to focus on in class.
2つめの動画は、語彙力をつけるために生徒が自分のiPadでクイズレットのフラッシュカードアプリを使用しながら自学をしている様子です。生徒たちは、既習単語の復習だけでなく次の授業に必要な語彙の予習も、このアプリを利用して学習できます。自分の発音を改善していくために単語の音声を聞き、また様々なゲームやテストを使ってどのくらい自分が単語を覚えたかまで確認することが出来ます。加えて、我々教員は生徒達の学習進度を確認することが出来ます。
