中学1年生が初めてケンブリッジ英検を受検しました
This past Saturday, on December 14, the first-year students here at Nakamura Gakuen Girls’ Junior High School took their very first Cambridge examination, the Pre A1 Starters test. The test was a great opportunity for our students to use the language and skills that they had learned during their first eight months here. The Cambridge examinations measure students’ English ability across the four skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking – with an emphasis on communicative competence, i.e. how well the students can use English as a tool for communication. For this purpose, two Cambridge English speaking examiners, both native speakers of English, came to our school to evaluate the students’ speaking ability, and we can’t wait to know the results! And now that Pre A1 Starters is done, our students will begin taking their first steps towards reaching the A1 level, the first level on the CEFR scale, by mastering the language and skills needed for the next Cambridge examination, A1 Movers, which the students will take in 2020.
令和元年12月14日（土）、中学1年生が初めてのケンブリッジ英検、Pre A1 Startersの試験を本校で受検しました。中学に入学して学んだ８ヶ月の英語力を試すのにとても良い機会でした。このケンブリッジの試験は生徒達のコミュニケ-ション能力を重視しながら、読んだり書いたり聞いたり話したりするという４技能を測ります。これは言い換えると英語をコミュニケーションの道具としていかに上手く使いこなしていけるのかということをみていくのです。この技能をしっかり判断していくために、今回のスピーキング試験ではネイティブの試験官が2名、来校しました。我々は結果を早く知りたくてたまりません。そしてこのPre A1 Startersの試験が終わった今、CEFRの第1段階であるA1レベルのMoversテスト（2020年に受検予定）の準備に取りかかっています。
