【 高校1年生 アメリカフィールドワーク 9日目 】 / America Field Work [9th Day]

March 12th marked the final day at Corning Union High School for Nakamura students. They started their day at 8 AM, and attended their final CUH lessons with their host sisters.  Many of our students wish they could stay longer here.

During lunch break, Nakamura students and CUH students gathered in the gym.

Nakamura students performed traditional Japanese dances (such as Soran Bushi).  As our students performed, they showed their gratitude to the CUH faculty and students.

After the performances, Nakamura students began preparations for the farewell party and wrote Thank You letters to their host families and their buddies.

Finally, at 6 pm the farewell party started.

At the party, Nakamura students gave another performance for the girls they had shadowed in lessons and for the host families.  Many students, both from Nakamura and from Corning, had tears on their cheeks.  Everyone enjoyed the last night in California, and made more unforgettable memories.

This 11-day American field work gave Nakamura students opportunities to improve their English, meet new people, learn first-hand about other cultures, and broaden their horizons.  Everything that they have experienced during this field work will help them in finding and attaining their future goals.  They will be able to take these memories and experiences home, and use them both in their school lives back in Fukuoka, and in the future—wherever their paths lead.
